  • Is a concussion a brain injury?

    Yes, a concussion is a traumatic brain injury. They occur by a hit to the head, causing the brain to move back and forth in a rapid manner. The sudden rapid movement can cause a chemical imbalance in the brain and can damage brain cells.


    Concussions can cause further complications, such as headaches, confusion, blurred vision, nausea and depression, amongst other things. They are severe injuries that should not be ignored.

  • How do I know if I have traumatic brain injury?

    A TBI can happen in a car accident, a slip and fall, or some other kind of accident. If you struck your head and are experiencing brain-like symptoms like a concussion, you should seek medical attention immediately. An emergency medical professions can assess whether or not you have a TBI based on your symptoms. They can also assess the severity of the injury through various tests and exams. You may also be required to get a CT Scan or MRI for a more detailed view of your brain after an accident. They can reveal things like bleeding, swelling, bruising and other signs ion trauma to the brain.

  • What are the challenges of having a traumatic head injury?

    Some people are able to recover from a TBI that is less severe through rest and reduced activity. If it’s a more severe TBI it can alter every aspect of one’s life. This could be temporarily or even for the rest of their life. 


    Oner of the biggest challenges associated with a TBI is that it’s an “invisible injury”, as it’s an injury that can’t be seen. This makes it more difficult to diagnose and could delay proper treatment. In also often makes filing a claim with your insurance company problematic.   • Is there a deadline to file a TBI lawsuit?
